What does the member card look like?
Below is an example of our current member card. A colour card which contains the members names, membership number and expiry date, contained in a laminate pouch.

Processing healthcare assist discounts For members without a
private health fund
Simple... Apply the appropriate Healthcare Assist discount to the total of the bill at point of sale. Present the adjusted account to the customer for payment. Remember you do not give discounts on anything listed in the exclusions.
Finance assist—patient financing Helping your customer get back to life
Do you have clients waiting for treatment or surgery because they don't have the finances? We can offer patient financing with a wide range of finance options to suit every budget. Unsecured finance to $40000 let us get your customer back into life. Refer your patients to our customer service centre or website for details. Unlike other finance companies we do not charge you any money for using this service.

OVERVIEW
Although the Healthcare Assist system is extremely easy to administrate, we found the largest problem to be that front line staff were unaware of Healthcare Assist, or how it worked.
To help you with this Healthcare Assist has provided some basic training tips.
LOST OR STOLEN CARDS
Where a card has been lost or stolen we will from time to time send you a 'Stopped Card' Bulletin showing the member numbers. If someone presents a card number on the list please call our customer service line on 1300 725 909 and ask for a 'code 10 authorisation' we will then instruct you how to handle the situation.
Processing healthcare assist discounts For members with a private health fund
Simple... Process the private health cover as normal through your 'HICAPS' terminal. Adjust the bill to remove the amount covered by the Health Insurer. Then apply the applicable Healthcare Assist discount to the remainder of the bill, and present it to the customer for payment. Remember you do not give discounts on anything listed in the exclusions.
